What are services like?

At HBC, we "do church" differently. It's a warm atmosphere, friendly and relaxed, with comfortable chairs rather than pews. Instead of hymnals, we project the words to songs on 2 large screens. As our pastor shares the message, relevant points will be shown as well as Bible verses that are used. But don't leave your Bible at home - you'll need it for your LIFE Group!

The first thing we usually do in a worship service is sing a few songs. This is followed by a time of informal greeting of those around us. If you like, you can fill out the Guest information on the tear-off flap of your worship program, and place it in the offering basket at the end of the service. Don't worry about someone showing up at your doorstep, unannounced and uninvited - we don't do that.

After the welcome, we'll enjoy a few more songs, then Pastor Charles or another speaker will speak. Following the message, announcements are given and the offering is received. After the service, you are invited to stop by the Welcome Center on your way out and greet our pastor and some of our staff members. If this is your first visit, we want to give you a special gift, no strings attached: a $25 gift certificate to one of two local restaurants. Our services usually last an hour and 15 minutes.
